For parents
Safe, transparent, and responsible AI
We write data minimisation, opt-outs, and transparent disclosure into our camp policy. Here is our promise to parents and our code of conduct for students.
Our safety principles
Data minimisation
Tools run on-device and login-free where possible; we collect only the minimum needed and never upload images or work without consent.
Consent & opt-out
We obtain parental consent before any filming, recording, or third-party platform, and offer an alternative activity for any tool a child prefers not to use.
Transparency
We state which tools are used and why, who manages accounts, and how personal data and showcased work are handled.
Six rules for working with AI (for students)
- 1AI can help me think, but it can't judge for me.
- 2I will ask: what is this based on?
- 3I won't put my own private data, others' private data, or unconsented photos into public tools.
- 4I'll admit that AI gets things wrong, and record how it does.
- 5When I make something, I'll be clear about where the data came from and what its limits are.
- 6If a problem really needs human care or company, I won't rush to hand it to AI.
Parent consent & transparency checklist
- This camp is primarily in-person; AI tools are only part of the materials.
- Which digital tools are used, whether accounts are needed, and who manages them.
- Whether photos, audio, or video will be captured, and for what purpose.
- Whether the course involves generative AI and how teachers cover verification and limits.
- What alternative activities exist if a child prefers not to use a tool.
- Parent contact point and the channel for reporting a safety incident.
Safety and transparency items are adapted from Taiwan MOE's 'Guidelines for Generative AI Use in Schools 2.1' (a public administrative document), tailored to our context.
